Money Alive Ltd is entering its next chapter under a new name: FCX Technologies Ltd. The new identity reflects the evolution of the business into a technology company serving financial services firms with novel, purpose-built products and services, and marks the most ambitious chapter in the company's history. (so far). Since 2018, Money Alive has helped consumers better understand their pensions, their options at retirement, and a wide range of other essential financial topics, under the Money Alive brand. The firm’s Money Alive Office product is unaffected by the rename and continues under the same name, serving financial advice firms across the UK.
Since 2024, the majority of the company's activity has been centred on Video Canvas, its award-winning personalised video solution for pensions and financial services. The rebrand reflects a broader remit: research, design, build, and distribution of secure, personalised video experiences that meaningfully improve consumer engagement and understanding, built on nearly a decade of user experience design and original consumer research. Over one million members of pension schemes benefit from the technology today.
A new hyper-personalised version of Video Canvas is set to launch imminently, powered by FCX Spark: FCX Technologies' proprietary publishing engine, built entirely in-house, and what the company believes is the biggest advancement in personalised video technology for financial services to date. The new Video Canvas introduces capabilities made possible through FCX Technologies' long-standing investment in flexible and secure software development kits, agentic AI-augmented video publishing, and data-sovereign deployment. To date, the company has invested over £1 million in the research and development behind Video Canvas.
Ownership of the business is unchanged. FCX Technologies is backed by its founders, institutional investors including the Midlands Engine Investment Fund (managed by Foresight Group), and a number of high-profile industry figures.
"We are enormously proud of the work we have done with some of the industry's leading companies," said Andy Kirby, Co-founder and CEO. "The rename to FCX Technologies reflects where our business is today and where it is heading, and we are delighted to welcome Matthew Davison and Andy Darvell to the management team as we look forward to this new chapter."
"I believe we are going to have a market-leading, personalised video solution for financial services for many years to come," added Aaron Coates, Co-founder and CPO. "Watch this space."
